Intramurals

SisterhoodS

Our chapter participates in various intramural sports in both the fall and spring semesters. We enjoy the competition between other organizations on campus. During the fall semester, our sisters play flag football. Flag football is the most popular intramural sport that our sisters participate in each year. Softball and Volleyball are played in the spring semester. Softball is a favorite among our sisters. We enjoy being out on the field. Volleyball is not as common, but our sisters love it. Participating in intramural sports is a great way to stay active.

We have sisterhoods every other Tuesday here in Theta Mu. Sisterhoods are a way for us to come together during the week and spend time with our sisters. Our chapter uses sisterhoods as a way to strengthen the overall sisterhood bond within the chapter. Some of the sisterhood activities that we have held were, game nights, movie nights, self defense classes, cookie decorating, study nights, and so much more.

Big Sister & Little Sister

What is a big sister? A big sister is an active member who has been in the chapter for one or more years. What is a little sister? A little sister is someone who is a new member in the chapter, they could be freshman, sophomores, juniors, or seniors. In Alpha Sigma Alpha the purpose of a Big sister is to be a mentor for the new member. These relationships are important within the chapter because as a new member you want to feel like you can always have someone that you can go to no matter what the situation is. Plus it always helps to have a relationship with someone who has had plenty of chapter experience and can help you through your new member meetings. The Theta Mu chapter wouldn't trade their Big and Little relationships for the world.
